Recommended fabric
Light to medium weight wovens such as linen, soft denim chambray and fine cord. Soft wools and tweeds are also suitable for colder climates. You will also need suitable lining for the facings like a muslin (or self fabric if using something lightweight like cotton or linen).
Yardage requirements (without nap) all pattern pieces:
Using 44 inch width fabric (110 cm)
- 3: 1 1/2 yards (1.35 m)
- 4 - 8: N/A
Using 47 inch width fabric (120 cm)
- 3: 1 3/8 yards (1.25 m)
- 4 - 5: 1 2/3 yards (1.5 m)
- 6 - 8: 2 yards (1.9 m)
Using 55 inch width fabric (140 cm)
- 3: 1 1/6 yards (1.05 m)
- 4 - 5: 1 1/2 yards (1.35 m)
- 6 - 8: 1 3/4 yards (1.55 m)
Using 60 inch width fabric (150 cm)
- 3: 1 1/8 yards (1 m)
- 4 - 5: 1 1/4 yards (1.15 m)
- 6 - 8: 1 1/2 yards (1.3 m)
For thicker fabrics, cut the two facing pieces in a lining fabric
Using 47 inch width fabric (facing in lining) (120 cm)
- 3: 1 1/4 yards (1.15 m)
- 4 - 5: 1 3/8 yards (1.25 m)
- 6 - 8: 1 5/8 yards (1.45 m)
Using 55 inch width fabric (facing in lining) (140 cm)

Using 60 inch width fabric (facing in lining) (150 cm)
- 3 - 5: 1 yard (.85 - .95 m)
- 6 - 8: 1 1/4 yards (1.1 m)
Lining Fabric - for facing all widths
- 3: 1/3 yard (.3 m)
- 4 - 5: 1/2 yard (.4 m)
