Learn to make a classic H-bag, great for an everyday purse or a bag to tote your crafting and sewing projects.
Join Joelle on Monday, June 19, and Monday, June 26, 6:00-7:30 p.m. We will need two sessions to complete this project.
This is a good class for developing your skills as a confident beginner. If you know how to sew a straight line, can follow a seam allowance, and have recent experience using a sewing machine, you are ready for this class. We will briefly review the use of the Pfaff sewing machines in our sewing studio at the beginning of the class. You will learn how to use a rotary cutter and cutting mat for sharp clean lines. We will also cover some design techniques such as top stitching and lining methods to give a more polished final look.
Class cost is $75. This includes three hours of individualized instruction in a small group setting with Joelle, use of our machines and equipment in the sewing studio, a copy of the pattern, and wood handles for the bag. You will need to purchase the fabric for the bag.
The H-bag requires one 1/2 -yard piece of 42" wide mid-weight canvas and one 1/2 yard piece of 42" wide 100% cotton for the lining. (Quilting cotton weight is best.) If you would like to cover a stabilizer for the bottom of your bag, you will need an additional 1/4 yard of lining fabric. You will receive 20% off your fabric if purchased at the shop. If you choose to buy fabric with us, please either visit the shop a few days before class to pick out your fabric, or arrive at least 20 minutes before class. Joelle will be in the shop before class to give you a hand.

We must have a minimum of 3 students enrolled to hold a class. We reserve the right to cancel due to low enrollment.
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 24 hours before the class otherwise you forfeit the class fee.
In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.
Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot.
No refunds or rescheduling for students who do not show.
