Jaimie Pajamas : Beginner Garment

Join Laura on Wednesday and Thursday, October 23rd and 24th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm each night to sew a pair of Jaimie Pajamas from Tilly & the Buttons. These pajama pants are the perfect introduction for the confident sewist to try their hands at garment making. During this class you'll learn the basics of reading a garment pattern, and skills for simple garment-making, including elasticated waistbands. This is a perfect introductory class to garment making.

Tilly & the Buttons' Jaimie pattern includes US sizes 0 to 30. The pajama shorts version requires 1 & 1/8th yards to 1 & 1/2 yards, depending on size chosen. The pajama pants version requires 2 & 3/4 to 3 & 3/8 yards, depending on size chosen. Fabric and pattern need to be picked up approximately 1 week prior to class (Oct. 17th) in order to have time to purchase fabric, launder fabric, and have the size of the pattern traced out. If you do not come to class with your size traced out, you are still welcome, but you likely not have a finished garment at the end of class. 

Level: Confident Beginner
Attendees for this class need to know how to confidently thread a sewing machine, use that sewing machine enough to sew straight lines, and sew a consistent, accurate seam allowance. Not sure if that applies to you? Call us at the shop and we can figure out what level applies to you.

Price: $85.00
The cost of the class includes four hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our sewing studio and tools. If you own a sewing machine, you are welcome and encouraged to bring it to the class. If f not, you may use the sewing machines in the classroom. The pattern and required elastic are included in the price of the class. Fabric is not included, but can be purchased at the shop with a 20% discount.
