Quilt Binding 101 - Oct. 12th

Join us for three hours on Saturday, October 12, 3:00-6:00 p.m., to learn the basics of making binding and binding a quilt. Not a quilter? Binding can be a great method for finishing many other items such as hot pads, pillow covers, and clothing. 

Level: Confident Beginner
You need to be able to make a bobbin and properly thread your machine, adjust stitch width and stitch length on your sewing machine, switch between zig-zag and straight stitches, and carefully follow seam allowances. If you aren't sure if you have these skills, email us at chateausew@gmail.com or give us a ring at 504-533-9221. We offer four week Beginner Group Sewing Classes as well as individual private lessons if you need to sharpen your skills prior to taking this class.

Price: $70.00
The cost of the class includes three hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our sewing studio and tools, a 12" quilted square to practice on, and a fat quarter to make binding. If you own a sewing machine, we encourage you to bring it to the class. We have sewing machines available in our sewing studio to use during the class, if you don't have your own machine. You are welcome to bring your own quilt to bind as well. Purcases of fabric and notions made in the shop for this class receive a 20% discount.

We offer this workshop for groups of three or more. Grab a couple friends and let us know what time works for you. We would love to work with you to host a workshop for your group.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 48 hours before the first class in this series. 

In case of cancellation by us, you may choose to be refunded or receive store credit for the amount paid at the time of registration and use the credit towards a future class within 6 months.

Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot.

No refunds or rescheduling for students who do not show.
