No, Jelly Rolls Aren't for Breakfast, and Yes, You Need Them Now!

Contrary to breakfast menus everywhere, a "jelly roll" is not a roll with jelly. Not in our world, at least!

Instead, a "jelly roll" is a pre-cut bundle of fabric. The term was originated by Moda Fabrics though now, other fabric makers create these bundles as well. Sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but in general, each fabric strip measures 2.5 wide by 40-45 inches long in a collection of 42 strips of fabric rolled into a bundle.

The strips are super convenient for quilts because much of the cutting and fabric-matching work is already taken care of. But jelly rolls are great for so much more!

There are loads of great projects perfect for jelly rolls -- or even leftover "orphaned" strips from quilt projects -- you know, the ones you love that don't match anything else!

We've gathered six free sewing projects from all over the web we recommend you use with your jelly roll stash:
