I know who (or what) I’ll be for Halloween, but what about Fido…?
I know you’ve all been up late at night, pacing the floor with your friendly ghosts, wondering what to dress your "most favorite" children as this Halloween. Until a few years ago, this was a major worry for me too. My two miniature dachshunds, Heidi and Zorro, would just about pant themselves silly with anticipation! Unfortunately, they’ve both gone to the Great Bark Park in the Ever After, but in memory for their love of Halloween, I'll share a few of my favorite (ahem, their favorite) homemade costumes. Each is cute and easy and sure to help score gobs of candy. Remember, if you need any help or advice you only need to drop by and see us at Chateau Sew & Sew. We’re happy to help! We carry a fabulous selection of Holland Felt.
One of my favorites was a flower, which requires simple sewing techniques that can be found on DIY Network. https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/make-and-decorate/crafts/how-to-make-a-flower-halloween-costume-for-a-dog
A bat is always appropriate and fun! Sewing around the wire can be a little tricky, so keep an extra needle handy, just in case: https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/make-and-decorate/crafts/how-to-make-bat-wings-halloween-costume-for-a-dog-info--
Ladybugs are lucky charms and also adorable as costumes. Your pup will be sure to receive lots of doggy treats with this one: https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/make-and-decorate/crafts/how-to-make-a-ladybug-halloween-costume-for-a-dog
The easiest costume, but also very fitting, is a witch’s hat: https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/make-and-decorate/crafts/dog-halloween-costume-witch-hat-with-braids
Wishing you, and everyone in your family, a fabric-licious Halloween! We hope to see you at the shop soon.
